Project Description
It was a treat to renovate the rear wing of this lovely home for a wonderful family of four. Purchased recently, the owners brief was to update this area in keeping with the homes elegance and character, with a focus on function and creating a place and space for everything their busy lives require . They worked with Casey of Studio Seventy Four who designed the kitchen, bar and alfresco layouts and cabinetry, chose selections and created magic.
We worked in stages over nine weeks to accommodate the family who lived in during the enovation. The key structural works to the kitchen included the removal of two original columns and the extension of a smaller, angled bulkhead. This made way for a new kitchen layout with an expansive island bench and a waterfall end that makes a beautiful statement. The bulkhead extension mirrors the new layout and really positions the kitchen as the focal point of the living area of this lovely home. The timber flooring was extended to create two points of entry and ease of flow in and around the kitchen.
The elegant new bar occupies the full length of the living room wall and offers ample room to display and store items. Adjacent to this sits the fireplace which was updated with the addition of stone cladding and a timber mantle. The bar and fireplace complement one another perfectly, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The new alfresco kitchen has totally transformed the existing deck. It’s been built to accommodate everyday outdoor living and entertaining friends and family with ease. While they are individually gorgeous, the kitchen, living and alfresco areas are collectively stunning and flow together so well.
Living through a renovation like this one with a young family is not easy and our team are incredibly grateful for the patience and kindness our clients extended to us. Our thanks to them for trusting us with their home.
