There’s just something about an old character home and this beauty in Subiaco was no exception. While the front of the home oozed character, the rear eighties addition housing the kitchen, dining, master bedroom and ensuite, created a real disconnect.
Our scope included gutting the kitchen and removing the existing tiled flooring, aluminium doors and windows. Specially milled boards to match the width of the originals were installed throghout the rear of the home along with stacking timber doors and windows, paying homage to the homes’ character. Stripping the existing cabinetry revealed an old part-fireplace and chimney that was removed and made way for a new and now more spacious cooking centre. And, the old kitchen up stand was removed to make way for a larger bench top, allowing for more comfortable seating and meal preparation. We also renovated the ensuite bathroom, continuing the character theme. The elegant combination of tiles, Brodware tap ware and light make this a beautiful space to be in. Special thanks to Casey of Studio Seventy Four for assistance with kitchen design and selections.
Our client was a delight to work with. Knowing exactly what she wanted made our job very easy but living in for parts of the process was anything but for her. Our thanks to you Andrea for being such a star and for the following kind words …
